Job Title: Membership Liaison Officer

Job Purpose

Full Time

Based: Office based in Peterborough

Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 depending on experience

The Institute of Export & International Trade is going through a period of exciting change, and the plans for the future of membership are firmly cemented in the strategic vision of the organisation. This is an exciting time for a new Member relationship officer to join our team and act as the interface between the IOE&IT and its members.
This role would suit a driven individual with at least two years relevant experience who leads through their ability to organise and deliver projects and events, can engage audiences of all ages through honed communication skills and ultimately, can deliver a sales and marketing campaign that will produce growth and improve engagement within the vibrant membership community.

The post holder will report to the Membership Engagement Manager and will sit within the Membership Department. They will have close working relationships with the Commercial and Academy teams and will work collaboratively with the wider IOE&IT team.

Role responsibilities

  • To act as the first point of contact for all members and prospective members, taking enquiries via multiple communication channels including telephone and email
  • Provide a high level of customer service and ensure member satisfaction across range of services and provisions
  • Maintain and update the member database accordingly
  • Maintain complete and accurate customer correspondence data
  • Build and maintaining profitable relationships with key customers
  • Ensure administrative processes and standard operating procedures are followed
  • To manage the member life-cycle i.e. sale and payment, new member communications, member benefit administration and renewal process
  • Contact members via calls, emails, or meetings to ensure they are satisfied with purchased products/services
  • Work with other departments across the organisation to maximise engagement with membership recruitment strategy
  • To coordinate central administrative support for the commercial function
  • Provide administrative support to the Membership Engagement Manager
  • Keep members updated on the latest products in order to increase sales.
  • Expand the customer base by upselling and cross-selling
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. commercial, academy and content/marketing) to address customers’ needs
