Description

The Director of Innovation and Technology will lead and manage technology initiatives to support the mission and strategic goals of Mt. San Antonio Gardens. This hands-on IT leadership role will oversee the internal IT team and a Managed Service Provider to ensure high-quality technology operations and resident services. The Director will play a critical role in vendor and contract management, especially as the organization moves to cloud-based services, and will apply expertise in business processes, system integration, and cybersecurity. 

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop the IT team, providing guidance to foster a high-performing
  technology department.
• Mentor and coach IT staff, supporting their professional growth and skill development.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
• Lead innovation by introducing new technologies and solutions to improve organizational efficiency.
• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, including software licenses, hardware procurement, and cloud services.
• Ensure vendor compliance with service level agreements, prioritizing quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee daily IT operations including but not limited to networking equipment, computer hardware, software, and cloud-based applications to ensure a secure, scalable and reliable IT infrastructure.
• Manage support services for the resident website, TV and Internet service, AV technology, and basic IT support for residents.
• Oversee the IT department’s budget, including capital equipment operational expenses.
• Oversee data integration efforts to ensure seamless interoperability across systems.
• Direct and support the implementation of new software and hardware.
• Support the development of business application training and best practices.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, promoting Security First and Zero Trust strategies to safeguard data and systems.
• Ensure HIPAA and other relevant compliance standards are met.
• Ensure regular data backups and disaster recovery plans are in place.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in vendor and contract management, with an emphasis on ensuring quality service delivery.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including network and systems administration, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
• Knowledge of business processes, engineering analysis, data integration, and system integration. Proficiency in API management and system interoperability.
• Knowledge of project management principles with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor IT staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization and convey technical information to non-technical users.
• Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with residents, department managers, peers, and other employees.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT leadership experience, including vendor management and project oversight.
• Experience in a nonprofit or senior living environment preferred, with HIPAA compliance knowledge preferred.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert and PMP.
